Can anyone tell me how to figure out what springs I currently have on my Ex? I've had it for a little while now and I'm fairly convinced that the PO changed out springs/added blocks or something. I have not experienced any of the harsh ride or bottoming out problems that I've read about. And I noticed that my Ex sits a couple inches higher than my friend's. Not having ever paid much attention to them before, I just assumed his was a 2wd since it was lower, then found out that it was also a 4wd. So I'd like to try and figure out what I have on mine right now. Is there any way to read the OEM codes stamped on the springs to figure out what they are or what they came out of?
TIA

Are there 3 leafs? If two are they a negative arch? You can tell in the door what ones came with the truck, I think you can then look at the spring and see if they match, if that is even possible, or try and get a # off them to ask the dealer. From what I hear they change these numbers all the time from year to year and it is hard to tell from just the spring. I went with V codes and an add-a-leaf, I knew they were from an F350 because thats what we took them off of /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif The block in the rear is a 2 1/2" block with an "ear" on it, like a wing. There are 5 leafs in the rear with an overload spring with a bump stop on it, the OL only runs forward. On the front, the stock distance between the bump stop and the spring is about an inch, you would swear it hits all the time and you would be right, it does. My rear is stock except for the 4 1/2" block I have to level it from the front 3" lift, the rear is up a little, I like it a little rear high. Different shocks would be a tell tale also depending on mileage.
