I'm removing my 2004 6.0 with 76K ... EGR failure.
I read a post implying pulling from front is possible.
I'm having difficulty getting pan past frame crossmember.

tranny is separated from block approx. 2" but pan interferes, must I remove or move it back?
I dropped pan thinking that would help, all it did was make a foolish mess.
what am i doing wrong?

Loosen the trans mount nuts and slide it back as far as it will go. Take the exhaust y pipe off.

Since I have never pulled a 6.0 before, but have used this method I am simply making an educated guess.

When I do it that way, I use a floor jack to support the tranny with a piece of wood to spread the load. Then I lift engine with hoist and tranny with floor jack enough to clear what ever is underneath, keeping the trans and engine as much in line as I can.
