I am thinking about buying an aftermarket HPOP cometic head gaskets, and head studs. With these and a custom tuned chip with very aggresive programming would I see a performance gain from the big pump. Right now I am wanting to get one because I plan on getting some big injectors down the road and I know that I will need all the oil that I can get. And if I were to see a performance gain would it be enough to take a chipped 6.0. Thats my short term goal is to not get beat by the 6.0 powerstrokes anymore, and if that won't do it what else would be needed to take a 6.0

If your factory HPOP is "good", as in able to maintain 3000psi with a chip in an extreme setting, then the BIG HPOP will hardly make a difference in peak, maximum power...it will make about the same power you have now, but it will hit it's peak power earlier, and hold that power much longer before dropping off.

Just a BIG HPOP with stock injectors & turbo is not going to be enough to beat a 6L with a box, unless you're running a reg cab 4WD, and the 6L is running a longbed, CC, 2WD dually...even then, it would be close.

..and stay away from "very aggressive programming" /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif

take care~

Right now I always run out of oil when I floor it. every time it sets a code, I don't remember what i was but it had to do with the icp and oil system, and my top end would suck in the higher settings. I am stil going to buy the pump because I will really need it when I get some big injectors. This is a little off topic but what else would I need to beat a 6.0 with a box. I already plan on buying the HPOP, but what else would be needed to take the 6.0.

I have yet to see a SD with AD splits hold 3000psi with any of the stock pumps, not saying it wont happen but have yet to see it especially with high hp programs.

That being said you will see performance gains with the bigger hpop being that you will pick up the pressure. Also with the dual pump systems you will gain a flatter tqu curve giving you more power even though you may not pick up alot more peak hp on a dyno.

what typr of dyno numbers are people seeing with stock injectors and with the aftermarket HPOP. And can some one suggest a few pumps that are pretty good and where to get them. What are the pros and cons of having a single pump, versus dual pumps. I may be asking some dumb questions, but I am just trying to learn more about my truck and how to make it run better. Thanks for the responses, Chad

Dont know alot yet on stock injectors but Sapps truck has some of our Stage I singles in his truck with the pumps and put down 349hp this past weekend at Indy. After he got off the dyno we figured out that his map was only seeing 8psi of boost due to a faulty map and a faulty blowoff valve, unplugged the map and it felt a whole lot better but didnt put it back on the dyno. The SI's are comparable to stock AD's with slightly more fuel on the top end.
