hx55v

I have a chance to get a hx55v or a hy55v. Does this turbo need any control units to work /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shrug.gif I havnt heard of anybody useing ether of these turbos

That sounds interesting if it's a vvt. It's basically an h2e flow wise so that could be neat. Most likely in whatever the original application was, it used electronic controls. But, should be able to rig up something similar to a diaphragm wastegate control.

I do not believe it is vvt. I think they use HE instead of HX.

It is capable of flowing nearly 1400 cfm.

I found that same info when I googled HX55V. What I havent found yet is if it needs a seperate computer to control it or if it is fully self contained. On the holset site they list the HX as useing the air compressor off the brakes of the big rigs and the HY useing a complicated computer that analizes nox and every thing else. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shrug.gif
