I have been having a hell of a time with my Hydra Tuner.
part of this, I think, and hope, has been resolved by finally reading the "small print" in this forum.

Some Excursion owners have problems IF, the Hydra Tuner's program is not "PATS" enabled.

IF, I leave the tuner on '00' it will shut down and restart and off I go.

IF, I leave it on any position other than '00' the truck will NOT start again, ever...

Until, the switch is returned to '00' and the battery power removed, and reconnected.

Tonight, I got in the truck, it was on '07' and it would not start.

Reprogrammed it again making sure to select PATS Enabled, and saved every one of the files.

Shut the laptop down, did not disconnect the USB cable,
turned the Key OFF.

waited 10 seconds, and hit the starter and Varoom....

I left it on 00 for tonight, it is 32*F and raining.
Will experiment tomorrow to see if it works in any other position after shutdown.

any comments?

One further question, do you use a OBDII monitor also with the Hydra Tuner?
I bought a Edge CTS-3 but it is not installed yet.

I'm using the Torque app with the Bluetooth OBD2 transmitter I use for Forscan diagnostics. It does not interfere with my Hydra at all. I do not have an Ex, and I don't think I have PATS on my truck...I didn't use the PATS-enabled programming and have had no issues. I'm still sorting through the programs trying to find the most economical for daily use...the fuel sipper is NOT it. The 65-hp performance one is doing well, but the truck gets great mileage on the higher tunes. I'll be towing this weekend and will play with the tow tunes.

I have since received an Email back from the developer PHP,
they told me to not use 'Fuel Sipper' so I deleted that one.

Currently, I tried the 65hp Daily driver and I like the way the throttle response is, and how the transmission seems to shift firmer, meaning less clutch slippage.

meanwhile, it is on 00 and in the shop to get a TrueTrac installed.

I tried the 80hp Daily Driver one time only when I first installed it, wow, what a "go getter" that is.

however, my goal is Longevity, and I don't want to over-stress anything if I can avoid it.

Good to hear it is resolved. Don't think any but the really high hp tunes will eat into longevity...no need to blow black smoke anyway.
