Can you use it? Yes. Almost ALL oils will burn in a diesel.

The question is "SHOULD YOU" do it. THis we dont have a solid answer for.

Lots of "old timers" will claim they ran ATF, used engine oil, hydraulic fluid, or any other "oil" they could get their hands on.

While that may have been fine for the older diesels, our newer electronic diesels and their high-tech "unit" injectors are pretty picky about fuel quality, contamination, lubrication, and cyclinder temperatures.

Its not something I would do with my truck, but hey! someone had to prove Bio-Diesel was safe at some point too!

The other concern is EMISSIONS. We know what is in diesel and bio-diesel because the gov't and ecologists have studied the hell out of it. "other" fuels are not subjected to those tests because they are not considered a "fuel". You could be making some pretty nasty stuff out the tailpipe and never know.
