I just moved to Metro Detroit and roads are awefull. The potholes seem to be killing the truck, so I was going to replace the shocks and steering stabilizer. I crawled under to inspect the shocks to see if they are still stiff, and sure enough, I don't have a steering stab. I don't even see where one would mount to the tie rod. Does anyone have pics of theirs? This weekend I am going to buy one and weld in mounts on the axle and tie rod. I am expecting to put it somewhere on the front of the axle tube, on the passenger side.

My truck has a steering stabilizer the fixed mount is on the pass side spring perch, and the the one on the drag link uses a U-bolt. I will try to get a pic later today and post it for you.

My 83' didn't come with one, so I added it. The 93 had one from the factory. Too bad it took them 10 years to decide to do that. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif

A replacement steering stabilizer has available an install kit, or U-Bolts & bracket.
If you require sex with that stabilizer, then Rancho, I am guessing at $120, plus the install kit.
If you want a good one, than Monroe has a off brand, for about $35 plus the install kit of about $30. It has a rubber boot, in colors, Almost hot. My thought is that it is a direct factory replacement, as I used the original install bracket.

NAPA has one that is about as big as a pencil, for about $20 plus the install kit.
The 2nd one is around but hard to find, I purchased mine at Fleet Farm.

Good Luck

I put a single stabilizer on from NAPA, mine was actually a pretty HD unit and has worked well, but with over 35 inch tires, I should have gone with a double set up. I ordered one from 4 wheel parts, but they kept dicking up the order, and my truck will go nuts on bad roads without the stabilzer, so I bit the bullet and put the one from NAPA on. I will have to eventually put a double on. I think the single is starting to get wore out. Scotty
