I got a new tank and reset the computer. Had to sit waiting for a wreck to clear. Computer read about 3.5 all then time I was sitting there, but then went UP after I went on down the road. Why? Doesnt make any sense.

Your mileage should go up when you drive compared to sitting and idling, because when you're sitting, you're getting 0 miles per gallon. I can't explain why it won't go any further down than 3.5 though. I think all trip computers get a little flaky at the edge conditions (just reset; moving not using fuel; using fuel not moving).

Actually, when I read it, I really thought you had gotten a new fuel tank installed, and had the computer reset to know there was more fuel available in that tank.....now, upon re-reading it, I realize I read into it too much, and you just re-filled the tank.... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif

It was probably higher than that (if you got to drive at all before you were sitting still) and went down while idling. If I fill mine up, start it, reset the computer, let it idle while filling my mileage book out (for taxes), it will stay on 0.0 mpg. The longer I sit the longer it takes to start uping the mpg on the display. The computer mpg is an average since the computer was reset. And just in case any one wants to know, my computer (with no mods to mess it up) is always within a tenth or two of dead on.
