I forget my old sign in name and password (dr powerstroke or something). Sigh! Anyway. I told someone I would post after I installed my hid kit. I went with the 5000k 50w and am very happy! I got them from http://www.reedsoffroad.com/hidlights.html depending on what you want. Prices start at $79 w/lifetime warranty! It was plug&play. Easy install. Took me about 20min a side. But, that's because I couldn't decide where to put the ballasts. Any questions regarding this kit or the 6000k 35w I put on wife's Dodge Neon. Ask away. Anything else, I might not be able to help. Only the kits I put in please. :D

I moved the coupon code to my original post
code: forumcode15x ($15 off)
Coupon code no longer needed. They offer free shipping

Footnote: Before I get someone asking which is brighter...the 5000k 50w is :5:

We did the hi/lo so it has a replay with kit. The truck I just did lo beam. So, no replay.

Thanks for the tip though.

I have the 50w 5000k. At first. Yes. But, I adjusted the head light and not anymore. Wife has the 35w 6000k and she has never got flashed.

They work very well. I am the type "A" person who most business hate :) I want it right or forget it. These lights are great. I can see everything fine. 100% coverage.

The lm "brightness" is 4x that of a stock head light on 35w and 5x on a 50w.

Does that help?

Sure did, thanks for the reply. I misread it and though the wife had the bixenons...I wonder how those work?
You read right. Wife does have those. Bi-Xenon is hi/lo beam. Works fine. Hi's are not brighter, just changes pitch. I just have the single beam. After, I did her's I didn't think it was worth the extra money since it's not brighter. So, I went with the single beam and saved the money.

Better?

HID question

I installed bixenons in my truck and just installed HID projectors(H1) in my dads SD. Does anybody elses truck stumble or stall when they turn on theyre headlights, especially after just starting the truck?

Hmmm. Not DOT Approved. What does that really mean, from a liability and/or legal point??

HID's are the best thing since sliced bread if you ever drive at night. Street signs "pop" and much easier to read. Great!!!

What year trucks are you guys running these in? I have heard the 02-04 don't work as well with those housings. That the 05-07 housing works much better.

Are you afraid the housings will melt? Keep your eyes on them. That seemed to be a problem with the HID in the pre 05 trucks.

Well, I sold the '04 avalanche and bought a '02 suburban. Needed the 3rd row. It also came with the 4x4 which was a plus.

Anyway. Someone asked if there was a difference in brightness from the '02 and the '04? Yes. The headlight is different. I bought both the HID kits from Wholesale Tread Racing Performance Hid Kit Exhaust Headlight Tail light CAT Back and more! so I can compare apples to apples. It's the lense. I think in '04 they went to a clear lense. If that makes sense. :read:

As for the other comment. Your right HID is the new waive. Ride it! I think LED will come around in the near feature. Well see.

Regarding the comment if it will melt. I have a heat gun that measure the hid vs stock headlight. The hid is cooler! 149* stock and 89* hid. I have the photos. :)
