Well i have warped rotors and I have never serviced the slide pins. I have 65k and want to replace my rotors and service the slide pins. I have an 02 and hear that the pins have been upgrade and some sort of bracket. Anybody know what I need and what the part numbers are? Thanks

Don't know about a upgraded bracket but I have always just lubed the pins and it helps. When you take off the caliper pins just use some brake clean to clean the pins and the holes they go in. I used a little compressed air to dry them off. Make sure not to mess up the rubber o rings. I used the Ford OEM caliper pin lube. It comes in a tube and is available at the stealer. Just lube them up and reassemble. There are boots over the ends of the pins just be careful not to tear them.

I did my 02 last month. Buy yourself some of this:
Sil Glyde

Just pull the caliper pins out and clean them real well with brake cleaner and lube them up afterwards with the Sil Glyde or any other hi-temp silicon lube, and reinstall them. It's a very simple job, so long as you can get the pins out - in other words, they haven't seized up. I notice you live in a salt belt, so cross your fingers. I took my rotors into my local auto parts house and had them turned for 12 bucks each. The truck stops like new again. No more pulsing. I have not heard about the "new pins and brackets". /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shrug.gif

I just went and bought some of the Ford XG3 Lube today. Ten bucks and you know it is the right stuff. I am doing the same job if you have any ?? just PM me. I am also going to flush all my fluid and replace with a good quality brake fluid. I bought the Valvoline that meets DOT 3 & 4 requirements.
