A little different plug when I was working on my 2008 tow mirrors:

Look on the back side, where wires are, and see if there isn’t a catch (clip) to release and push in on it like in this picture:

Then when it start to pop out you can grip it with needle nose pliers and remove:

And a look at the individual plastic clips, once that blade is out, and how they lock the pins in place:

That is kind of what I ended up doing. I had to take the back cap and seal out and was able to

i was able to see just the ends of the red center pieces but it worked
