I have been trying to research what needs to get done to freshen up my truck. It has 309k on it.
I have been checking out powerstrokehelp.com. It seems like most is legit. But has anyone had any luck with his maintenance and upgrade suggestions?

there is lots of stuff that can/need to be done in these truck for maintenance. make sure all oil are changed when they should (engine, trans, transfer case, diff and power steering), fuel filter change each 2 engine oil change, ......

Welcome to guzzle's Ford PSD Web Pages as some good maintenance info like the hub needle bearing, auto hub lube, ....

not really familiar with powerstrokehelp.com so can't comment on it.

you can always look for any play in steering component, ball joint, u-joint, bushing, ....

consider a couple mod like hutch/harpoon mod, door seal mod, snowman mod (not sure the name of that one),.....

Also if you fill up you signature with your truck and what you have on it, it will help people not to offer some stuff you already have on it

At 309k miles, it's probably ready for a new set of injectors. That would be the one thing that would probably "freshen it up" the most. Making sure you're getting fuel to them at the proper pressure would be high on the list also. The hutch mod and possibly a boost to the fuel pressure regulator (check some of the vendors for higher pressure rated springs and regulator housing) would be good things.

Powerstrokehelp.com has some good stuff when it comes to basic maintenance, but when he gets off on modification like drilling out the fuel rail plugs, I'd be a little leery of following those suggestions. That particular one strikes me as a bit like putting a fire hose nozzle on a 50 ft long garden hose and expecting to get more flow thru it.

Ya bill Hewitt has good maintenance videos but his theories are crazy.

with proper maintenance 300k miles isn't a big deal. The rest of the truck usually needs attention
