Im trying to get the IDM apart and im having a lot of trouble geting it apart. IS there any secret to geting it open?

if you have all the screws out, it should open with some prying
that sealant is pretty good stuff....

Lots of little screwdrivers. I usually start by getting under the corner near the connector. Try not to pry against the connector tho, as you can crack the plastic housing.

Just thought I'd add this question in since its related. got my resistor ordered from madvan...Thanks. What do you guys use to reseal the IDM?

The same stuff that ford sealed it up with.

RTV Silicone Sealer (special sealant for powerstroke)

Where is the IDM located on an OBS - is it the same location as a super duty?

It's mounted on the inner fender just below the hinge. You can see it HERE

Cool - just got my modded IDM and want to swap it out tonight and see what all the fuss is about. In a couple weeks I am going to get a baseline Dyno for my truck and I am going to swap the IDM and nothing else (other than what is in my sig) and see what difference it makes.

Swapped them out. Noticed a difference in starting the truck this morning. It seems to pull harder down low as well. Also spools the turbo a bit quicker (at least my impression). Didn't really add much power, just added a good amount of responsivenes and gets you into the power band faster. I'll be dynoing in a couple weeks to get a baseline and will get a baseline with stock and with modded IDM to see the difference.
