Hello and thanks in advance to anyone who might be able to help. Last fall i bought an '86 F250 outside seattle and drove it 6,000 miles throughout the western states. My problem is now two things that may be connected. the wts light won't stay on for more than a couple seconds when starting and flickers/stays on while driving, and when i shut off the ignition the engine continues to run. The only way to shut her down is to turn on the headlights prior to turning off the ignition and then when headlights are turned off the engine shuts off. I replaced the gp relay and can hear it click when i go to start the truck. I plan on installing a push button switch and replacing the ignition. Am I on the right track or am i missing something?

I don't think you ignition switch is operating correctly........or the FSS is not.

Next time you turn the key off....AND ENGINE STAYS RUNNING.... check for power on the front spade connector on the drivers side of the IP. Use a test light clip to ground and probe to spade terminal. Key off there should be no power........ if it continues to run with no power then the FSS, fuel shutoff solenoid would be suspected. They are replaceable..... for instructions PM me your email addy and I will forward info.
