When I run my WVO/#2 mix I notice that the engine is alot quieter, and that my EGT's are a few hundred degrees colder when cruising, but, my boost numbers are a few pounds higher. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shrug.gif. I also think it is a few more HP when on WVO, but I thought WVO had slightly less btu's. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shrug.gif. Any one else notice this. what are others obzervations when driving on WVO.

just doesnt make sense to me.

Less BTU's would explain the lower EGT's.
As for more boost, maybe it's just a cleaner, more efficient burn. From everything I've read, this is supposed to be the case.
Just because you dump alot of #2 into the motor doesn't mean it burns it good. Maybe this is just burning correctly.

I figured the lower btu was what gave me the lower EGT. the higher boost is what threw me off. makes sense though.

Yea hurry up. a twinned PSD on WVO would be sweet. thats kinda my goal around this area, a PSD that will beat most others, AND get fuel for free. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smokin.gif

For what it's worth, I have run low 15's at the track on WVO, with the standard wastegate bypass, and an edge cranked up to ludicrous speed, or extreme. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif At a race wait of about 7500lbs. Hopefully I will find enough dead presidents over here to upgrade to some baby swamps when I get home!! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smokin.gif

I personally have not noticed a marked differance in EGT's between WVO and #2, however the engine is MUCH MUCH MUCH MUCH quieter. It is so much more quiet that I actually don't like running diesel anymore down the freeway. Did I mention it is quieter? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

I got a set up stage ones in the budget right now. but I think I just might jump to the stage two's right away. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shrug.gif we'll see.

I just started on WVO, but it seemed to me boost was a little higher on average too. Quieter, for sure, but no performance difference noticed yet. I'll compare EGT's later
