I'm having injector problems again and don't remember how I did this GB Tech Bulletin test. I need to measure the resistance between the injectors power feed and the injectors ground circuit at the IDM plug. Where's the ground circuit?

I also got a code p1272 on the buzz test; #2 cylinder high to low side open. What does that mean?

OK, it came back to me and the resistance is good to all injectors except NO reading on #2. That's why it has the 'open' code. Now that I've got it diagnosed, what causes it and how do I fix it?

Hi blage. There's a pipe/tube going across the center, top of the left valve cover. I tried getting it off the last time I had trouble with the injectors and finally gave up on it. What's the secret? Do you know?

Well, I had turned it in to Park City Ford in Dallas and just got the bad news. Fuel injector= $468, labor 7.5 hours @ $115 = $863, plus harness and gasket. Total=$1500!!!

I'm ready for a new van.

Injector #2 is the first one on the drivers side and is very easy to get to...remove the AC compressor and the cover and you're there ....I would say 4 hrs labor MAX.... Injectors are only 250 bucks ..the harness / gasket is like 100 ....and there is probably nothing wrong with the injector ... If I didnt live 1500 miles away from you I would give you one.. I also have the harnesses you need in excellent shape ...I would find someone else to work on it if I were you...Find a local guy that works on Busses or Ambulances for the Town you live and you can buy the parts yourself.... you will save at least 1/2 of the money you were quoted

Thanks blage. I'm out of town and had originally thought I'd do the repair in the parking lot. I decided against that and not knowing anyone locally, decided to turn it into the dealer. Thanks for your replies.

The dealer wants to update/upgrade the PCM program for an additional 1.0 hour labor. I've not heard of this being required; is this another rip off? Prompt replies please; I need to call them in the morning.

I this sounds like a rip -off to me ...The only way to upgrade a PCM is to put a Tune on it.... I doubt they know how to do it....If you want a performance tune talk to Jody @ Dptuner.com or get an Edge programmer...I doubt the dealer can do it... I could be wrong however

This is not a performance tune. According to them, there are updates for the PCM that come down from Ford, periodically. Kinda like Windows Updates; I've never heard of it.
