There's an electronic relay called
Cyclops that works with a key fob. What it does is replace one of the relays (IDM or PCM for instance) and deactivates it when you push the button. Then when someone tries to start it, it only cranks.
I have a slight issue with that, in that it allows someone to break in and crank the engine till the batteries go down. A hidden switch that interrupts the start circuit would be the way I'd go if I were to install something like that.
With a little ingenuity, a guy could install something like a Cyclops relay that killed the IDM or PCM AND the starter circuit as well.
Good luck

Call them up, they can program more than one relay to work off the same lighter plug in or key fob. Still have to engage the remote or lighter plug in withing 30 seconds of switch on to make the relay (s) up. Just costs more to get more frequency specific relays, like a keyed alike lock of sorts. Actually I think that one is enough, on the IDM, if they crank it down till the batteries are dead they are still going nowhere. That puts them in the seat a lot longer making noise. Who cares if they burn the starter up, they don't get the truck and that, not the starter is what you are protecting.
