I have a Dp tuner chip, which has a no-start setting. All I do is take out the chip control box, and it defaults to "no start", which means it wont start even with the key! You have to plug the chip back in for it to start. But, I'm sure there is a cheaper way, like a switch that cuts power to the IDM relay, possibly? I'm sure some of the other guys will chime in soon! Welcome to TDS!!!

P.S. Please turn off your caps lock because it is the Internet equivalent of yelling. Thanks!

You can run a switch into the cab from the idm fuse and hide the switch, or you could just pull the fuse when ever you park it.

Welcome to TheDieselStop /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

There's an electronic relay called Cyclops that works with a key fob. What it does is replace one of the relays (IDM or PCM for instance) and deactivates it when you push the button. Then when someone tries to start it, it only cranks.

I have a slight issue with that, in that it allows someone to break in and crank the engine till the batteries go down. A hidden switch that interrupts the start circuit would be the way I'd go if I were to install something like that.

With a little ingenuity, a guy could install something like a Cyclops relay that killed the IDM or PCM AND the starter circuit as well.

Good luck

And called my cell phone. And e-mailed me. And set a self destruct timer. I really hate thieves.

Just put a "Got Sig?" sticker on the back of your window behind the drivers seat and that should deter any theif smart enough to not mess with a truck who's owner packs a gun! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smokin.gif If that isn't enough...I also installed air horns to my alarm to wake anybody up within' a 1/4 mile in a dead sleep. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I've got the Cyclops on my truck. I really like it. I figure I'd rather replace the batteries than the truck. It replaces the fuel pump relay. I originally got it because I was going down to Mexico a lot, so it represented an additional layer of protection.

The Cyclops is around $125.00. Run a search for "cyclops" and you should find the web site address.

Call them up, they can program more than one relay to work off the same lighter plug in or key fob. Still have to engage the remote or lighter plug in withing 30 seconds of switch on to make the relay (s) up. Just costs more to get more frequency specific relays, like a keyed alike lock of sorts. Actually I think that one is enough, on the IDM, if they crank it down till the batteries are dead they are still going nowhere. That puts them in the seat a lot longer making noise. Who cares if they burn the starter up, they don't get the truck and that, not the starter is what you are protecting.

It's not my favorite, but I am fond of my Sig which is exactly why I do not have any decals advertising ownership.
I really don't want some meth head breaking into my truck and tearing it up looking for something thats not there because of a decal.

A smart person wouldn't leave their firearm in their vehicle unattended. And if they did, they would have a lock box, not cable, bolted to the floor of the truck. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smokin.gif

Can you still start and drive your truck with the relay kill on the fuel pump? I can. For me it is a theft slower-downer not a real "kill" switch. Just something to think about. I too am looking for a better kill switch.

A sig in a lock box under the seat of your truck aint good for much. Might as well be unarmed. In my experience, when I need a firearm, I need it NOW.

Only times my Sig is in the locked box is when I go to a court house where no weapons are allowed unless you're a law enforcement officer, or any government buildings where it's prohibited. Other than that...good luck taking it away from me. I even wear it to church when I go. Not that anyone knows, but you never know when some pyscho is gonna go ape $#!^.

OK, makes sense. Better than just chunking it under the seat, guess I need a lock box. I usually leave mine at home when I go somewhere I can't take it in. Or put it under the seat.
