I have a 2002 f250 with the stock 6 disc radio. My dad has a 2007 Mariner that has the same radio but it has a SAT button on it for activating Sirus radio. Has anyone installed the newer radio in a older Superduty? From the outside the radios look the same.

I am looking at ding the exact same thing.

Here is what I have learned:

The chassis is the same and will snap in, no problem there.

Your '02 radio has the black 'world plug' connectors on the back of the radio.
The newer '05+(?) radios and all SAT radios are Fords gray 'phase II' connectors. You can get a plug-in adapter from some of the online retailers of car stereo components, but they are all custom made and cost $60-$75.
I do not remember where I saw the adapters, maybe some of the other members will have that info.

Good luck to us both,

Bill.

Maybe you we can go to a junk yard and cut the gray ends from a totaled car and build the adaptor. Or maybe I can spend 40K on a new truck with it ready to go........ Nah maybe not! If this was plug and play I was going to swap radio with my dad before the car went back on its lease next month. If I do it I guess I will find a radio on ebay or junk yard.
