Double posting because not a lot of traffic in the X section.

Anybody do this on there 2000-2001 X?? Looks like a real pain in the butt. Looks like I need to remove the blocker beam? How in the world do you get your arms down there to work on things?? How do you keep mess to a minimum??

And does the 6.0 cooler really fit in our Xs??

Thanks,

Paul B

Yes it will fit, ShayB has one on her X Just take the top rubber flap off, Take the AC condenser brackets off, lean it forward and the rest is fairly straight forward

I did all that and it still looks like there isn't enough room, maybe ShayB will come along and give me a clue.

Thanks,

Whoops, brain fart. My apologies.

On my 6.0 trans cooler install, I had to remove the bumper, as my plowframe got inthe way from comming up from underneith, IIRC dad's 03 had one of these blocker bars, that was removed and the same plow frame was put in its place, so I would immagine its a similar process.

I do them from underneath on the lift, just like doing a regular one, pull the lower apron, P/S cooler, lower Condensor mounts, unbolt the AT cooler, drop down, replace with the REAL one, install all else.

Yeah, but if you don't have a lift going from down under can be a pain. As I said in my PM why don't you just pull the bar that is in your way? I don't have a X but how envolved is it? Shouldn't take longer than 1 hour to do the job. I am just like you, I want to know everything I can from everyone before I dig into something. But sometimes you just have to close your eyes take a deep breath, say a long prayer, and just jump in there!!!!! Let the wrenches fly!!! If all else fails you always can take it to the dealer, sorry, it really isn't so bad, just gett'r done!!
You can do it!!!

Evidetially Xs are different and I am just trying to avoid any pitfalls. Why reinvent something if you can find someone who has done one or two and find out the easy way.

Are you guys calling the anti-roll over bar a beam blocker?

That comes right off, but since you guys dont have access to a lift, from above is the way to do them.

Hey, there is several different ways to get the job done, you can close your eyes and ears to one way or listen to what everyone says and then make a decision on how to do it.

Good Luck.
