i can get a hold of a stock 6.0psd inter cooler. are these any easy swap into a 97? i don't have one in it right now. i thought it might not be a bad idea to do it if i can get the cooler fairly cheap.

It's not the easiest upgrade to do. It takes some cutting and fabrication work. However if you have some mechanical skills and some patients, you can do it. I would call my self a shadetree type of mechanic, don't know a lot of anything, but a little of everything and I did it. It took me about 3 days in my driveway on my old 97, from teardown to completely finished and tested. However I used a 7.3 intercooler and tubes. Do some research too and you will find plenty on the internet of people who have done this and posted directions. Good luck!

Not to bad of a job. Taking everything off is the worst part. There are a couple of different ways to do the plumbing after you are done you are going to have to do some cutting there as well. Be prepared to spend more on the plumbing than the inter cooler I will be into mine about $550 when it is all done I am doing the Banks plumbing I like the Twin-ram intake.
