Replacing head gaskets and when i removed the ip i didnt mark where is was sitting so what would be the easiest way to get it back where is belongs thank you.:nono:

Is it possible for these motors to run when the timing is 180 off? I could get the engine running but it doesn't want to start on its own. Just got the engine in the truck from rebuilding it. So I need help. I need to know if it is off a tooth or half the gear. I followed the step that zigster had and when I pull the timing gear and cover the y marking was pointing up and not down. We forgot to put the pump and timing gear on before I put on the timing cover and water pump on so we were doing it blind and had it close we think. I NEED YALL'S HELP!!

FYI these trucks will run with the timing gear off by 180, I proved it. They won't start under their own power but they will start on ether and run once started. They WILL SMOKE A CRAP TON!!! but will run. Needless to say I used Zigsters directions and his procedure set me on the right course. NOW MY TRUCK RUNS!!!!!!
