My truck runs like crap (excessive smoke, surges, etc.) unless I put a hot wire on the injection timing advance terminal. I ran a switch into the cab to play around with this setup. Even with the engine hot and running down the highway @ 2700rpms it seems to want that advance powered up. I have new 8 new injectors, and new filters. I also stuck a Holley Red pump on to see if that'd help, and no difference. Is there some adjustment that can/needs to be made, or should I bite the bullet & find a diesel injection shop?

Is the holley pump working....... sometimes members hook them up on power that disappears when key on for start or run....

How much pressure are you getting at the Schrader valve.....

If you advance the timing with power to the advance and it works better then advance pump timing slightly.... 3-4* is about the width of a dime. Then try the power to advance again see what happens.......
