Hi, I have a 1999 F250 7.3 xl. I moved to a hotter climate and now I am wishing I had AC. I am not in a position to buy a new truck and even if I was I don't know if I would as I have this one running strong with good mileage.

So I was thinking if I buy all the stuff can I just add ac myself then take it in and get it charged and what ever. and if so does anyone know what all I would need to buy and do after the parts are installed?

Thanks
Steve

Just to give you something to look at yes you can.

You will at least need the compressor, compressor mounting bracket, different belt, condenser, hoses, and the inside climate controls. I believe that the duct work is the same. Also possibly a wiring harness. You might also look at the heater box housing on a junk truck and see if they are the same or if the one with AC is larger. You should be able to pick up all the parts at a junk yard off of a wrecked truck, but weather or not they work would be a question you would need to ask at the junk yard.
