I'll start off with I am not ready to oder as of yet, but I will be looking to get a F-450, assume loaded or pretty close to it (possible I could take dealer stock). I was reading the x-plan rules in the above post and I noticed it said that you can not us the x-plan for F-450... With that said, is this correct? Has anyone used the x-plan to buy a F-450?

An X-Plan PIN cannot be used to order a chassis cab truck. So until now, you couldn't order an F-450 with an X-Plan PIN.

But now that Ford makes the F-450 pickup, I suspect (but don't know for sure) that you can probably order the F-450 pickup - but not the F-450 chassis cab - with an X-Plan PIN.

Any dealerperson with access to the Ford computers, or the dealership invoices, should be able to confirm if the F-450 pickup invoices include an X-Plan price.

Smokey... Thanks for that info and all the other info you have given.

Maybe a sales person will see this thread and let us know 100% or not.

On side note... I better start posing more, we joined in the same month/year.

The F-450 "pickup" is available for purchase under Ford's AXZ plan. But it is still at the dealer’s discretion as to whether or not they will sell it for plan price. If the dealer does not want to deal under the plan, then find another dealer.

Here is the current list of ineligible vehicles, as you will see only the chassis cab is listed.

Yes, I did. But it almost takes the fun out of purchasing a truck. No haggling, no headaches, no one calling the law do to a brawl in the showroom. All I did was bring in my trade and my preapproved, about two hours later tooling down the freeway with a silly assed grin on my face, saving over $6,000 off of the MSRP.

CaptSkup... Thanks for that. Yes I went to the dealer last night and had a talk with a salesmen and he Yes no problem and he loved the thought of using the plan (easy deal). Like others have said, no dealing, just pick the truck and show that you are using the plan and there you go, driving away in the new truck. I was also surprised that when I asked "what if" we have to get the truck from another dealer, he also said no problem, no extra charge to pick it up so I could test drive/look at it, he also said if for some reason I didn't like that one they received from another dealer, they would do the same over until I was happy with the choice.

So when I am ready it looks as if I will have to see if a member will be happy to pass the x-plan savings to me.

It is certainly the way to go when buying what is considered a "hot commodity", ie. the F-450 pickup. Just being curious, a small local Ford dealer had a white and gold 450 Lariat sitting out front all proud. Window sticker was $61k, plus a small piece of paper tacked on next to the sticker with "additional dealer profit" adding couple of thousands more. I asked the salesman that hurried out if he would sell the truck under X-plan. You should have seen his face, as if I just told him I had run over his dog.. He sort of politely told me "no". Same dealer has a Mustang GT500KR in the showroom with $49k tacked onto the original price, again additional dealer profit. I guess they were having to come up with more money to pay the salary of the extremely attractive door greeter they employed. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Wow 61,000? I have built this truck so many times on line and I can't get it over $59,500 loaded (but that is built for Florida)... Also building it on line I was seeing $1,000 cash back.

What was added that would give them $2,000 more in option? And to top it off no x-plan, wow. I guess if anyone with any sense that looks at that truck wont pay that money, I mean you go on line and see loaded to the max F450s for far less then what they are trying to get for it.

We have a GMC dealer here that always has a new 3500 on a pedestal loaded with all kinds of "dealer" options that makes the price jump well over $10,000 over sticker, when I look at the trucks what I see is Wheels, Tires, spray in liner, chrome kit for the door handles/fuel door and a bug shield, lol not $10,000+ worth I'll tell you that.
