No, they are not the same. You can't bolt a bellowed up-pipe to a stock collector as far as I know. That's why they sell the whole thing as a kit, from exhaust manifolds to turbo inlet.

I really need to know which one is right. I just got collector bolts loosed up. but waited to find out which answer is right. I can tell if I tear into it more but if I do that im commited to finishing and really need the truck during the days.

It's been some time since I did the upgrade, but what I recall was the collector is the same, down to the part number. I looked carefully at the time wondering to re-use the stock collector or use the new since the stock was in good shape. The stock up pipes slide in with the donut and then the clamp around the donut. The donut can get loose and cause a leak. The bellowed pipes aren't really bellowed but have the same idea that the pipe slides into the collector and then there is a flexible tube welded around the up pipe to the flange that bolts to the collector to hold the pipe in place. Since no donut is necessary, a flat metal gasket is provided to help seal the collector to flange connection.

Exactly, AND that is why they are different, The stock one is machined out for the donut and the IH bellowed one is machined Flat for a Flat gasket. You can not use a Donut type Up pipe on the IH Bellowed Collector.

Well dieselford755, according to others I was wrong. Sorry.
I still don't believe it...as I made particular note of the parts when I was doing my upgrade. Wish I still had the old collector but I threw it in the trash.
And of course the others that responded have done this too?

First picture is my stock collector.

Second Picture is the IH kit - picture from Guzzle's site.

You can clearly see the amount of "face" missing on the stocker due to the machining. It is machined out at a 45 angle like a valve seat.

The IH cannot take donut.
