I have 66k on my truck and I'm getting a really bad exhaust smell in the cab. From reading around and how strong it is I'm assuming that its a crack in the pipe. Just bracing myself as to what to expect...would the Y-Pipe be covered under the 5 year 100k warranty? I'm pretty sure its exhaust, could be a bit of a fuel but one time at startup a little smoke even came in the cab. Nothing crazy, just noticed it.

My dealer replaced my y-pipe. Luckily my truck had only 35,600 ish miles and was 2 yrs and 11 months old. Whew, under the 3/36 warranty, so it didn't cost me a dime. I may be wrong, but I do believe it falls under the emission warranty though.

Mine was replaced under the 5yr/100k $100 deductible warranty. I confirmed my suspicions by chocking the wheels, setting the parking brake, starting the truck cold, and then creeping under the truck, halfway sitting up behind the engine and running my hands up and down the manifold to turbo pipes. It seems the cracks are fairly common, at the welds on, I believe the left side pipe, on the flex-joint. It also helped to have my trouble light shining up in there and illuminating a big black spot on my firewall.
