Anyone else here have a Jeep Liberty CRD running on a blended fuel mix? I and a couple of freinds here in Illinois have Libertys running on blends. I would like to compare what kind blends you are using, or have used and compare notes on issues that came about from running on them. One of them has run his Jeep for over 50K on his blend with no fuel related problems. He has made two simple mods to accomodate his blend. #1. Heated 2 micron in line filter along frame #2. Low pressure lift pump right before the in line filter. The blend we use is 80% WVO (filtered by centrifuge), 15% Diesel, 5% RUG for the Summer blend. I look forward to hearing from other Jeep owners. Thanks.

Most people around the world who are blending successfully blend waste oils at 80-85% with gasoline at 10-20% and some use diesel fuel in that blend. I personally see no advantage in blending diesel fuel in other than to enrich the petroleum industry. I do nto have a Jeep liberty, but a 1983 Chevy G-20 van with a 6.2L engine. I blend at 80% waste oil to 20% gasoline and it works on my engine just fine for more than 4 years.

Mr. Brooks, I have watched most if not all your YouTube videos and I have great respect for your work. I have often wondered if just using RUG with WVO would work. My friends who use the blend with Diesel and RUG got started with Diesel Secret. I believe they came up with their own blend after deciding Diesel Secret was not better than paint thinner. Liberty Jeeps have minor starting issues with our blend. 2 cranks with straight diesel and 4-5 cranks on the blend. Do you think that cetane or viscosity are the issue? Maybe an additive to help with starts? Thanks for your help Mr. Brooks.

I personally do not believe BTUs, Cetane or Octane are relevant, or otherwise adding gasoline to waste oil would not work, but it does. And, I have found if I have starting problems, then I add more gasoline. Maybe the Jeep Liberty needs more gasoline. Why? Who knows? Maybe it is viscosity, maybe it is a "gasoline spark plug." Speculating will not help you when you can't start, but adding gasoline most probably will help. let us know if it does.

We will have a new batch ready this week. I will up the percentage of RUG and let you know what happens. I noticed you had also mentioned in another thread that alcohol in the RUG may cause some issues. Around here in Illinois it almost impossible to find any Gasoline without ethanol added in at 10%. Another question I have is about WMO. I have used it, but blended into my fuel at no more than 5%. Filtered correctly, how much do you think the percentage could be run at? The WMO I get is from cars, trucks and farm equipment of people I know and does not have any gear oil or antifreeze in it. And do you think that a centrifuge is necessary for filtering? Thanks.
