Has anyone heard one of these play or seen one installed. I am wondering if the console rattles horribly or if the fit is good enough that everything stays tight. Its either one of these or a complete custom console.

It won't quite give me the output I want, but it will be good enough.

I have a JL Stealthbox and Amp in my truck (see sig) and it works great.
I do have the 40/20/40 split bench leather seating not buckets but it does not rattle the console.
Plenty of tight bass.
Yes, there is not much padding and the A$$ does get sore after a hundred miles of sitting but, it is my kids A$$ that suffers.
This I found to be the perfect set up cause I did not want to give up any rear floor space.
The install was not the easiest install. Thier instructions were not correct and one spacer was not correct but I improvised and it worked out fine.
The first unit I received did not have a metal threaded insert on one of the mount holes. The factory sent me a replacement Stealthbox that was manufactured correctly.
I find that the bolts that hold the console onto the Staelthbox loosen up even when locktite is used. A call to the factory to try to find the correct torque for the bolt was not answered. They could not give me a torque spec and just said make sure it is "tighten good". I feel if I tighten it more the threaded inserts will break so, I just tighten the bolts every few months.

A little on the spendy side $$$.
Overall I can recommend the Stealthbox.

I made a custom box to go under the 20% portion of my 402040 setup.....it works AWSOME!!! It allows you to keep the rear storage....the bass isn't overpowering anywhere in the truck either!! ......it takes some time with a metal saw, and trimmin' the factory foam....but it is a great mod.....and the seat still has about 2" of padding!!!! With the 10" sub hittin' hard......it is my girlfriends new favorite seat in the truck!!!!! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif

I've done some thinking and have decided to have a custom console built. I'm planning on running a JL12W6v2 (new W6) in a rear firing, ported setup. My installer said that they can use the factory lid for the console, to keep it looking somewhat stock.

I have the center console(Lariat captains chairs) and love it. I think it has a 10", but I also have 4 8" JL's behind the back seat. They share a RF 450 and it does real good. I don't miss the lost storage and now it sits a couple inches higher.

I have that setup with the captains chairs n center console. Lost some of the deep storage, but it's mor fucntional now anyway, not just a big bucket. The bass is great for what I want, tight, clean, and not over the top. If you want big time hard hitting it might not be for you.

Yes it rattles the console lid. I got mine stopped by replacing the lame hinge screws, running some foam tape along the edge where the lids lays. And finally got the last bit stopped when I pulled the cup holder off and ran a bead of some sticky tar like stuff around all the contact points. Could used silicone, but had this stuff from a set of Blaupunkt speakers, it held the screen grills on.

I would do it again, and a couple of my buddies that went the small enclosure, build it themselves regret they didn't. Mines powered by a mono 500 watt JLAudio amp
