Seems I read somewhere that jumper cables could be hooked up in a way to damage the electrical system. (Wrong battery or something) I could be mistaken.
I want to jump start my boat, it has three 105 amp deep cycle batteries hooked together. They are probably down 95%. Unfortunatly there is no 110v around for a charger. Will there be a problem hooking jumpers up to a system like that? I dont want to burn out my alternator or electrical.

Thanks
Oh

Can you get the truck really close to the boat so you're not having to run extra long cables from the batteries? And also I'd use really GOOD cables. Those extra thick ones. For jumping, I use the passanger side battery. My husband uses his truck (F350 03) to jump heavy equipment all the time without any problems. Although those are not deep cycle batteries. It may just take longer for you to jump start those, hince the shorter heavy cables!!!

Depending on the distance 4 awg may not be big enough...I found a set of jumper cables at autozone 20ft of 2awg cable like $30 if I remember correctly,.
