Hey all, we just finished a 1000 mile round trip. We went from Long Beach, CA up to Panguitch Lake in Utah. Our final elevation was over 8000 feet. We did some serious climbing along the way. Some grades were 8%! I was towing a travel trailer so my total load was around 7000 lbs. The truck performed great. It has plenty of power and never had any overheating problems, even though the outside temperature was 113 degrees. Hand calculated fuel mileage for the trip was about 9.3 miles per gallon. I'm a bit disappointed with the mileage. However, we did a lot of climbing and my pickup has the lift and bigger tires. Overall I'm very pleased with how the pickup performed.

I got the same mileage when I towed my Raptor from La Mirada to Bridgeport but my trailer weighed about 13.5k for the trip.

Did 1400 miles this month to Black Hills,
9.5-11.5 with our 29' 9k lb TT doing 65mph going there diagonal/side wind
7.8-9.5 on the way back same load doing 70-75MPH in a head wind
Your mph makes since to me if you have hills, I saw similar results since SD has many hills.
Yup, I love my truck too :)

Got back sunday from Enterprise Utah. Hot and windy as heck! Average for trip was 7.5 mpg. Not the worst I've had and with all the hills between Orange County CA and Utah I'm not too upset with it. Same here, no problems and even after crossing the desert in mid day with those crazy hills I never had any temp problems. Plus the A/C kept me nice and cool!! Love this truck!!

Now don't get me started about my camper's holding tanks after that desert crossing!!! Yikes!!!!!!

I pull trailer to CA from UT. My MPG is better closer to sea level. The same lbs on trailer around 13-14. The wind always blows me home. I make this trip every month and the winds plays a big part coming off the coast.

Drive right at 65mph in CA and 1650 rmp with my tires and gears. My tires help my gear ratio and MPG once she crusing. I leave real early morning going to CA a lot less wind. I cruse up the 6-8% grades.
