I left this morning with my truck on a trailer at 3:15 am. and just got back a little bit ago. Brian fixed my tranny. after they got the tranny out of the truck and took the torque converter off we saw the problem. I broke the input shaft. I was kind of suprised because it was almost a perfect break completly clean. Then while the tranny was out Brian tuned my pump for the injectors that I will be getting 2 weeks from tuesday. He also tore it down to inspect for any other damage and luckly the was none. You can still read the part numbers on the clutch disks.

[/ QUOTE ] Your tranny pump? So if you get more power after a BTS install you should get your pump retuned?

I do think hammer suggested the input. I have seen them break but the condition it occurred really should not have comprimised it. I just wonder if it was a billet shaft or a stocker.

He did mine last Friday. Nothing was broken or even showed signs of wear but he replaced everything anyway. By everything I mean clutch disks, TC, and a pile of parts that I don't even pretend to know anything about. The tranny was also re-tuned for my current power level. This was all done for the tidy sum of $150 (the cost of transmission fluid). They even serviced the transfer case for free since it was out. BTW, my transmission had been technically out of warranty for eight months! This is exactly why Brian has a loyal bunch of die hard followers who will spit in the face of certain internet guru's who refer to his components as POS!

Somebody please share with us your warranty experiences with ATS, Suncoast, DW, Monster Box or anyone else! Exactly what do they require for the warranty to remain in effect, and what would they say if a customer had concerns (valid or not) 8 months after their warranty expired. Would you get a complete $3500+ rebuild for $150?

[/ QUOTE ] now how did you initiate this, I mean if nothing was broken why did you bring it to him and why did he do all that for like free? Can everyone expect this or are you special? In a nice way of course. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I'm not special nor do I have pictures that I blackmaled him with. My truck was pulling hard at idle and the engine speed would drop over 100rpm when I put it in gear. It was worse in cold weather and would get better after warming up. It always shifted fantastic no matter what.

I just called Brian and told him what was happening. He said without hesitation, "Just bring it in and I'll make it better than new again and even upgrade some things that we weren't doing 2 years ago". The most difficult part was finding time in my schedule to take it to him. While there, he was constantly talking to people giving advice and making suggestions regardless of whether they took their business to him or not. He never once asked me for a receipt or asked any question as to how I drove or maintained the transmission. All he cared about was my concern with the transmission pulling so hard at idle.

BTW, you should see his new shop. It's huge with a brand spanking new Dynojet Dyno just waiting to be played with. The perfect compliment to the rumored soon-to-be performance engine shop.

Yeah it was a 300m billet shaft. It sheared of right before the splines that go into the torque converter. It was also a completly clean break. I know that the new shaft he put in wasn't 300m and that it wasn't stock, not sure what it was. He did say that I am the first person to break one in a while, I think the last person to break one may have been maddog. The tranny pump was tuned for the power level that I will be at with the injectors that he will be putting in my truck on the 9th. The new shop is nice isn't it. Can't wait to see my truck on the rollers there 2 weeks from tuesday. When I was there I did get to see what a blown 7.3 looks like when it gets taken apart, not to pretty. That was the first powerstroke that I have seen the internals on. I am really happy though, can't wait to go back down there and get my injectors.

That is Cales twin turbo engine that had a wrist pin let go at high boost. He had the turbos removed when I was there but the engine was still on a stand. I really enjoyed talking with Cale. He's following in his dads footsteps.

Yeah that was Cales motor. The piston skirt broke apart /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif. and I think the rod in that cylinder let go as well. I got to watch them take it apart, it was kinda cool. You should see what Cale can do with some of his programming /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smokin.gif

I will probably be going down there after June 1st when I have ALOT Of time on my hands,, Retireing from GM after close to 31yrs.
I have to have Brian take my BTS out of the early 99 and put it in my 03 dually. Also have the chip I have from them reburnt for the 03 PCM.
I was informed by someone else that it might need some changes to go into the 03 and work right,,(tranny) Something to do with the Valve body. Guess since I have put almost 20k on it he may want to go thru it also. Bought it in Oct. 04 and got tires on 9/04 have put 23k on them. I will call him and see what he says.

Oh,, and your post is no suprise to me,,,! Congrats on the "NEW" BTS!

I am sure that Brian will take good care of you and that you will be very happy when you leave. You should call and get your appointment made because they get busy.
