I have a late '94 f250 with the powerstroke 7.3. I finally completed the install of a "nomad" kit that I bought from www.greasel.com. The kit is well thought out and is nice, but the instructions that I received with it were pretty sucky and generic. At first, I hooked up the 6 way pollack valve backwards and ended up running out of fuel. I finally got it figured out and its pretty much up and running the way it should be now.
I went out searching for some decent WVO and scored about 50 gallons of some pretty good grease at this mexican resturaunt just a couple blocks from my house. They were happy to give it away and the oil was relatively clean. I pre-filtered it and am also using a Racor filter as well.
The truck runs pretty good on the WVO... power seems to be down just a little bit. Its especially sluggish at low rpms before the turbo kicks in. Quite a bit more smoke out the tailpipe also... Is this normal when running WVO?
Tomorrow I will really put it to the test and drive 100+ miles on the highway at 75+ mph
The 100 gallon aux. tank has a fuel gauge that is not working for some reason so I need to troubleshoot that but for now I just can look in there or use a stick to see how much I've got left.
