My 2013 is having a key switch issue. Normally I turn the switch and release and the truck starts automatically. right now if i do that it will intermittently act like it has a low battery and barely turn over then stop, or it will do nothing. If I try again and actually hold the key it will start like normal.

Is this a switch issue or a starter / solenoid issue?

I second checking the batteries and cables.

The ignition switch only sends an ignition switch position signal to a module... the PCM is what actually controls the starter relay.

I bought another terminal cleaner and cleaned all terminals. Drivers side positve was the only one with ANY corrosion and took a few minutes to get clean. Looks like I may need to replace that terminal shortly. All seems at the moment to be working correctly.

When was the last time you changed the batteries? How old are they?
