Here is a real shot in the dark! Has anyone ever heard of a two pin connector near the base of the steering column that when you jump across the two pins with a screw driver it opens a door lock program that allows you to program a keyless remote? The instructions said it was a little hard to find. And they are right!

If you have keyless entry then it is not hard to find, It is to the right of the steering coloumn taped to the wireing harness. Its a gray plug with 2 pins in it. If you dont have keyless it wont be there.

Ummm, so what do you do when you program it? Are there other things you can do with your keyless entry? Please...tell me more. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shrug.gif

I'm not sure what else a keyless remote will do...but I am hoping it will unlock my doors....I bought my truck used and it has auto door locks but no remote. I bought a factory remote and need to program it. Oh.. and I wouldn't mind if it would automaticly melt the loud thumpin music coming from the Toyota next to me....

Can you do that just by buying a keyfob? My dad has pdl on his 250 but no keyless entry, wonder if he can get a fob for his.

As for the bump bump from the rice burner next to you, best advice I can give is to let em have a blast from the exhaust.

You have to have keyless entry for a remote to work. If you take the lower dash panel off and look directly behind the cubby hole there would be a black box that says keyless entry, If its not there You dont have KE. Only thing the KE remote will do is Lock, Unlock and sound the Panic alarm.
