See what happens when you let people know you have a shop cd. If you get a chance, what does the ambulance altenator setup look like. I am trying to move my altenator to the lower bracket in order to make way for intercooler plumbing. I tried to flag down an ambulance to take a look but the guy drove on; thought I was a lawyer looking for a meal.

Not specifically and I think you'll find that a lot of aftermarket companies put in higher capacity alternators during the conversions. That's what I was told when I picked up my brand new "spare alternator" from Truck and RV supply in Indiana where they had dozens of factory alts on the shelf. In fact they simply cut the plugs off the alts when removing them /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shocked.gif vice simply unplugging them.
