I always seem to get diesel on my clothes when I'm working on my truck. The Tide detergent I use always takes two washes to get the smell out. Does anyone have a recommendation for a good detergent for work clothes?

try hand cleaner, rub a little on the spot before you
go in the house or put the clothes in the washer...its a
great degreaser (might stain, depending on the
type/brand...but chances are theyre already stained).

I promise this will work. Go to Lowes and buy some Resolve capet cleaner in the gal jug. Use reg detergent and pour 1/4 cup in the wash once the water is filled, or you can put it right on a stain. We now use it in every load.

Great idea. I have been using the GOJO thing and my wife does not like the smell it leaves in the washer, I have to run it through a cycle empty with tide to clean it out.

We even have some Resolve already (we have dogs)

Simple Green sprayed on it works too.

Dawn dishwashing detergent works great rubbed into heavy oil and grease spots, but don't go overboard, or it will create too many suds.

....and don't mix it with bleach.

dawn works great on the garage floor for getting up oil spots and will get rid of fleas on the dog!

Yes the Dawn works great, but do not use it if its a front loading washer. I'm not kidding. You will have to run the machine through 10 empty cycles to get all the suds out.

be careful with washing that stuff too. Or anything with flammable fumes in it. You know how they say not to do it because the machine can explode? Well it actually does happen. Not often but it does. It will blow the lid and front panel right off the machine.
