Sometime a while back someone here showed his LED tail light mod and inspired me to do it to mine. Man is this a cool mod! You end up with stock, factory looking tail light housings but with the LED function. I used 6" oval LED fixtures made by Maxxima. I bought them locally for about $36.00 each. I used a Dremel tool with a cutting disc to modify the back side of the housings so the fixtures would fit inside. A couple of carefully places screws to secure them and some black electrical tape around the edges to keep dust out were then used. All together it took about 2 1/2 hours, although now I could do it again in half the time. I added some pics, but halfway through Webshots cut me off so I'll try to add the rest tomorrow.

What did you use? I haven't found a replacement LED bulb for the factory CHMSL bulb yet. I'd like to go LED with the hope it'll last longer than the incandescent bulb...

I seem to recall reading somewhere that if I use LEDs I also have to do additional work to ensure the lights will still work on my fifth-wheel. Anyone have additional information about this as well?

Ahh, okay. I've been looking for a direct replacement for the OEM bulb so I don't have to cut anything up.
