im looking to level off the truck by lowering the rear. i tow cars a lot but no 5th wheel or anything close to max weight. i have to load and unload toys into the box a lot and sometimes it gets a little tricky alone. anybody know how much i have to come down and how i could go about it? remove the rear blocks? i dont want the rear too low just level with the front or a tiny bit higher. any information is appreciated, thanks!
its an 06 f350 diesel
here are some examples of how it sits right now.

Welcome to the site. Leveling kits are relatively inexpensive since '05 and up uses front coil springs. I went with a 3.5" leveling kit and 315 tires which brought me up 5 inches. Probably more than you want to go but you could go with the 2" kit and keep the factory tires. Personally I'd rather bring up the front than lower the rear.

If your blocks are the same as mine... They are about 4" in height. That may be a little too much for you, but you can replace them with a 2" block. That is easy, and you shouldn't have any issues with anything, including shocks or driveline. There have been guys that have done this before and none of them came back with problems afterwords. Just find a local shop to make you new u-bolts and have fun.

I understand about the wanting to lower more so than raise when you have to get things in and out of the bed a lot. The nice part is it is an easy task with these trucks.

I got some 2 inch blocks from a wrecker and hope to put them in this summer. There is a sheet available from ford with all the parts and part numbers required to do this job if you can't get the blocks from a wrecker. I will try to find it and forward it to you

I had 2" stock blocks on my '05 before my leveling kit. My '99 had 4" blocks. Being the OP has an '06 I'd be willing to bet he's got 2" blocks. But I could be wrong. Been wrong before. Just sayin.

If you do have 4" blocks you may want to check any truck mod shops that do lift kits in your area to see if they have any 2" blocks kicking around. I would think it would be cheaper than ordering them new through a Ford dealership.

I'm just sayin because when I had my truck lifted they kept all the old parts. You'd still need to order new U bolts though.

thanks for everyone's help, i have 4" blocks right now. i have almost 12 inches to clearance on my rear and almost 8 in the front. i dont really want to remove to block completely and be too low in the rear. but i'd like it fairly level, i'll try ordering a set of 2" blocks. i found skyjacker 2" kit off ebay for 99-05 f350, would that be fine? it comes with the 2" blocks, u bolts, washers and nuts. thanks for the help everyone!

Like someone else said - try a shop that does lifts shouldnt be more than about $40 for a set of OEM 250 blocks. A lot of guys pull the 2" blocks out and add the 4" blocks on there 250's when they do the 2 1/2" leveling spacer up front.

Another thing my airbag mount to the jonce stops on the OEM blocks - So if you ever plan on doing bags its something to think about.
