Where is the best location for the oil (not transmission) temp probe? Isspro mechanincal gauge for 2000 7.3

Mine is right next to the filter in a plug that was removed.

I found two in the block near the oil filter, one above and one closer to the transmission. Which one did you use? Thanks for the info!
