It was a banner ad that was popping up at page bottoms.Had a really heavy duty looking bumper that hung pretty low and was painted red. Ad is gone---anyone remember who it was?

Yes thanks it was alien patrol. One of their bumpers had a very low front almost like a skid plate.I liked the lower protection. Sucker looked like you could head on a train with it.

Was it a scam company?

I just edited this---went to roadarmor and the alien company has either copied them or is just acting as a re-seller. Thats what it looks like to me. BIG price difference though!

When I first saw a Road Armor bumper on an F350, I went ga-ga over it... I looked into them some and even went as far as to inquire about what it would cost to have a portable winch mount added to the bumper so I could continue to use my XD9000i as a portable winch.
The cost was prohibitive at that point and I also wondered just
how heavy those are as they look pretty damn heavy...
If Alien is much less expensive, I wonder where they cut corners to cut the cost... The finish maybe...? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shrug.gif

Ilooked again and those alien things look EXACTLY like road armor. Are they a re-seller? And they do look very heavy duty. Thats why I possibly want one. Looks like you cound knock trees down at 50 mph.

I would just give them a call to find out. Road Armor's stuff is nice, but REALLY expensive. Alien Patrol seems to be reasonably priced.

i think i read somewhere else that they were scamming people. they even use photos of road armors trucks to advertise their stuff.
