So I might be ready to move on from my faithful 7.3L...
Looking at going to a 6.7L in the 2017-2018 range. Just curious if there is anything specific I should be looking at in regards to the engine? Unfortunately, I can't just pop a spark plug out and look in the cylinders or do a compression check. like gas engines...

I would like to keep the mileage below 120K max and preferably below 100k. Looked at one the other day that had 103 on it but I saw where it had a mount for a 5th wheel in the bed, so I figured that engine might have worked hard its entire life... or is that really not that big of a deal?

Also looked at a few that have had egr, and or DPF deletes. I am familiar with the concepts, but not this particular engine. Is the EGR delete common or even advantages anymore (thinking back to the 6.0L)
Can you do just an EGR delete without tuning it? I know deleting the DPF requires a re-tune but what about just an EGR?

traditionally, I have been kind or leary of buying tuned vehicles because you never know who or how it was tuned, and you know how people tend to drive tuned vehicles...

Thanks for any advise

Turn and run from a 6.7 deleted/ tuned truck. Gone are the easy days of tuning our 7.3's and deleting the 6.0's. My knowledge of it is you are asking for all kinds of electrical gremlins to show up. Plus NO dealer or reputable repair shop is going to want to touch it if the emissions are tampered with.
