Long time owner of a 1994 1/2 F250 factory turbo diesel. Am looking to upgrade to a newer truck. Considering the 2017-2020 F-150 3.0L turbo diesel or the Chevy/GMC 2.8L turbo. Either would be 4wd, but not the dedicated off-road style (prefer the Z71 to the ZR2).
Am looking for pros/cons on either if you have it. A mechanic friend (an self-admitted anti-ford troll), has reservations about the glow plugs on the ford being under the valve covers and the injector pump not being external.
Thoughts along these lines please.
