Good evening everyone. This is my first post. I havent posted cause this truck has been running like a top. Just a little history if you dont mind. I bought my truck after I came back from deployment to Afghanistan. It is been a great truck and I am sure it will be for a long time. I now have 70,000 miles on it and have done all my maintainence on it since I bought it at 40,000 miles. I just changed the fuel filters for the second time since Ive had it. I think I might have lost the prime. I pulled the cap off the filter on top of the block and then went under the truck and changed the HFCM filter. After that I went and replaced the top filter. I turned the key over 3 times to prime it and it will start but wont idle or run unless you give it alot of throttle. I searched the forums but coundn't find any info on this problem. Thanks for any info you can give me

Check your O-rings, on your filter caps. Good Luck.

Most likely, its the lower HFCM cap not fully seated or a pinched o-ring there. The upper cap is pretty easy, but the HFCM is a bit of a bear. You may not have got the HFCM filter fully seated, as it has a notch in it, and that may be preventing the cap from a full seat.

On both the cap and drain plug at the HFCM, the o-ring is the critical seal, and not a lot of torque is required to maintain the seal.

Thanks for all the info. The orings were seated good. I opened the top filter and it had alot of air pressure come out and no fuel in it. I filled it with fuel and after a few trys it started. Its running fine now. Thanks again.
