Well I pulled 2 genius moves and lost both sets of my keys for my EX. they were the "chipped" keys. what do I need to do get replacements and any idea on the cost I am about to endure?

Call a mobile locksmith up. Pretty sure that they can make a key. As far as the cost, a chipped key that needs to be cut from scratch and programmed probably not going to be cheap.

You will need to (obviously) get a minimum of two new keys. The PATS system will need to be accessed with a FORD IDS to get past the security screen and then erase all programmed keys which will allow the two new keys to be programmed. I mentioned the Ford scan tool specifically because I do knot know of any non-OEM scan tools that will preform this function or if there are, which ones. I am sure someone who knows if there are, they will chime in. Do not pay more than one hour labor.

I also wanted to add that my dealership uses Car Keys Express - Dealership keys and remotes, for less. for some of our used cars. It says they are nationwide...

When I bought my latest car with a chipped key the owner only had one key. I had a mobile locksmith make me a second key. Including programming it was $45. Now he did have my original to cut the new key, but it shouldn't cost a lot more to do yours.

Biggest issue is going to get keys cut to the current code. Dealerships will have the key code based on VIN but there is s time limit I believe. Once you have a pair ok keys, any locksmith with the proper equipment can program them.

10 years is all Ford will go back on VIN to cut new keys.

I ended up having to get a local lock smith come out and do it nearly $400 for 2 keys cut and programmed.

I am having such issues now and i also call a locksmith to cut and program the key.
