So, I was changing my oil and I started it back up and I was still a quart low. I added the extra quart of oil and proceeded to take it out for a test drive. After a couple of miles I started to smell burnt oil and as I pulled over it died.. I opened the hood and found that I didn't put the fill cap back on.. I know that wouldn't be a problem normally but since I am using a bypass filter, that's where the oil returns from the bypass filter. I had two quarts in my toolbox and put those in and started it back up to bring it home. I filled it back up to normal operating level and now it isn't very happy starting when it's cold. I do plug it in and even with that, it takes 10 mins or so running to settle down.
Guessing I scored a injector or two and it has to warm up to get the oil flowing better to calm down..

Thoughts? any thing I can add to the oil to magically fix this?

How much oil did you refill with? The pump sucks out of the bottom of the pan, so unless you added like 10 quarts, there is a different problem
