Woke up this morning. Shortly after pulling out of the driveway, I hear clicking under the hood. I thought it was something that was caught hitting the fan blade. Popped the hood and didn't find anything. got back in the truck and the sound stopped. Started driving again and huge clouds of white/blue smoke are billowing out of the exhaust. Drove straight to the dealer 5 miles away. All along it was laying down a smoke screen James Bond style. Any thoughts? It is a brand new '08 F250, 6.4L, 4x4, Lariet. Only 3400 miles.

Injector failure? Speculation of course. Good luck.

Ok, so the diagnosis was failure of Injector #1. They replaced the injector, the particulate filter and the converter. It seems to run fine, but the truck goes into regen almost every time I run it. Plus my mileage has fallen off. Prior to the problem, I was getting a solid 14 or 13.9 mpg. I calculated by hand and the computer. After the "repair work" I am averaging 8 mpg. I don't pull a trailer and haven't changed my driving habits. Also, my exhaust pipes are blistering hot. The dealer cannot look at it for 8 days. Any ideas?

how long is it going into regen? if you arent letting it finish its regen, it will seem like its constantly in a regen.

get it out on the highway for 15-20 minutes
