Last night after running about 30 minutes @ about 50 mph my 98 E-350 PSD started making a loud knocking that appears to be coming from front of left top area.
My wife was driving, so I don't know what it sounded like when it started. She said there was a sound similar to a pully squealing.
The knock is RPM dependant, but it does not appear to affect the power output.
I am hoping it is something like a pulley bearing gone, but the knocking indicates something is more likely banging a broken part......
I was planning to bring to dealer this am, but any thoughts as to what this could be would be appreciated.
Anyone have experience with anything like it?
