Does anyone know the part number for the mahle low compression pistons. Im just starting to build my twin turbo 6.9 and am ordering everything within the week, and want to make sure i have the right part number. I told this part # to the people im getting my rebuild kit and they said no problem but i want to double check that these are the actual low compression pistons. The one i have is 144111HA, or 144111HAWR (with rings) theres also 144111 and 144111WR which the difference between the first part number i listed is that the first has a hard anodized crown where as the one without HA at the end doesnt. So can someone confirm this for me please?
Thanks in advance

Call Mahle in Tenn. Ask for Cathy Dornail at 423-581-16603. She has been lots of help to me in the recent past. Those numbers appear correct. P.S. They also have the large pin turbo pistons for the 6.9 motors but you will need aset of turbo rods (big pin 33mm) to make them work. They can be found for about $45.00 and no core charge.

The rods are made by International Navistar. Its their motor that Ford bought for the trucks. The shop in Florida is Diesel Direct. I said I would never mention them to anyone here because they really screwed me over on a set of pistons. They wouldn't balance evenly so I shipped them back. They took 2 1/2 months to get the correct 2 pistons. Then lied about when they shipped them. When I got them the box seemed light on the weight. Sure enough they only shipped 6 pistons for my 8 piston motor... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif All this and plenty more trouble has made them really a risky business to deal with. May the buyer beware on these guys. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smokin.gif

What is the compression ratio with the new pistons? How much do they run? How much trouble starting do you wind up having with them, and what is the max boost with them?

I may widn up having to rebuild the motor in one of my trucks, wondering if it would be worth it to go with to cr pistons. I've got a banks wastegated turbo setup on it, so I wouldn't mind building it to a turbo spec.

Has anyone had problems with the NA wrist pins on a turbo? Bigger pins would be nice, but do they really get you anything?
