I recently installed an electronic fuel pressure gauge. normally it reads at 70 psi but lately it started reading much lower, like around 30-40 psi. i figured it was an installation problem i'd have to work out but then just to try i switched to my rear tank and almost immediately, my fuel pressure went back to 70 psi. did this a couple times and everytime same thing. could i disconnect the fuel line at the tank selector valve and blow back on it in case the line is obstructed or could there be something wrong with my fuel pick-up otherwise? thanks in advance.

I recently had a problem with low fuel pressure from my front tank, it caused the fuel filter light to come on in the dash.

Dropped the tank, removed the sender and found the fuel pick up had broken and all the small pieces of plastic were stuck in the fuel feed of the sending unit.

I replaced the sending unit to correct the peoblem.

so i dropped my front tank. in doing both the tubes coming off the top of the pick-up broke off. the tubing was pretty thin and rotted so it didn't really take very much. took the fuel pick-up/sending unit out and it looked perfectly ok. i'm kinda thinking that the fuel feed line was rotted through a little right where it comes out of the tank and maybe it was sucking some air. i'm getting a new one through ford tomorrow so i'll have to see how it works after i install that. it doesn't matter now because i already ordered it, but can you get those pick-up/sending units aftermarket?
