Hey guys,

I'm brand new to posting here but have been following for a couple weeks now and gaining a lot of useful knowledge along the way. As of now I'm not very mechanically inclined, so excuse any ignorance on my part. Just bought a 2012 F250 Lariat 6.7l with about 106,000 miles on it. I'm loving it and can't see myself going back to anything else. Everything has been running just fine on it except one thing. I start it up, put it in drive, and go to accelerate when it loses a significant amount of power and creates a loud revving/air rushing noise in the first couple of gears. I let off of the pedal and let it catch back up for about 15 seconds or so. The longest it'll last is about 20-30 seconds and then it is fine for the rest of the trip. This is all under no load. Has anyone come across this before? I found things on this forum similar but not quite my situation. Could it be as simple as it needing a transmission flush? I'll be getting it checked here soon, just trying to get some insight before going to a mechanic about it. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again guys.

I saw posts that were similar but most of them had to do with long trips while towing. It's not so much a whistling sound but almost as if it is having trouble getting out of 1st or 2nd gear and just revs the engine up because of it. Bought the truck without really knowing where it was preventative maintenance wise. Didn't want this to become a bigger issue if I just let it go obviously.

Ever think to check the trans oil level. It has to be checked when hot and in Park or Neutral. As long as the level is in the hash marks it is OK. Overfilling is really hard on them. If the oil shows a good pink/red color it should never need a flushing, a little brown is OK also, dark brown to black is burnt oil.
